This Is a Small Family Workshop, Not a Template Factory
The Designcraft Studio is a family business built in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Every box that leaves our workshop is made by hand, one at a time. And when it comes to engraving, we do something most shops won't: we design it for you, from scratch, based on your idea.
That's not a marketing line. It's genuinely the part of this work I love most. Taking someone's idea — a photo, a phrase, a memory, a feeling — and turning it into something that will live on the lid of a handcrafted wooden box forever? That's the fun part. That's why we do this.
What "Truly Custom" Actually Means
When you order a personalized box from us, you're not choosing from a library of pre-made designs. You're getting something that has never been engraved before — and never will be again on another box.
We've designed engravings from:
- A child's hand-drawn artwork, transferred to wood exactly as they drew it
- A company logo photographed off a business card
- A couple's wedding date, vows, and the coordinates of where they got engaged
- A pet portrait from a favorite photo
- A grandfather's handwritten signature, preserved on a keepsake box
- A quote that meant everything, in a font that felt just right
If it matters to you, we can put it on a box. You just have to tell us what you have in mind.
Here's How It Works
We've made this as easy as possible:
- Order your box and share your idea at checkout — a description, a photo, a sketch, a text. Whatever you've got.
- We design a custom proof and send it to you for approval before anything touches wood.
- You approve it — or ask for changes. We don't engrave until you love it.
- We handcraft and engrave your box in our Tennessee workshop and ship it to you, ready to give.
The custom design service is just $10 — a small investment for something completely and permanently yours.
You Don't Need to Know What You Want (Yet)
Some customers come to us with a fully formed idea. Others just know they want something special and aren't sure how to describe it. Both are completely fine.
Tell us what the box is for. Tell us who it's going to. Share a photo or a phrase that feels close to what you're imagining. We'll take it from there and come back to you with a design that fits.
That back-and-forth — figuring out together what will make someone's face light up when they open this box — is honestly the best part of what we do.
