About Us

Founder, Owner, Woodworker, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, I wear all the hats!

Hi, I’m Mick.
I’m the founder, owner, and craftsman behind everything you see here. When I’m not in the shop making sawdust, I’m wearing my favorite hats: husband, dad, and grandpa. This business is fueled by a love for woodworking & better yet, doing it with my two sons.

This is the Mrs.

Lori, my wife, mom, mimi, nurse.. my wife since 1987, she doesn't work in the shop with us, but she had a very important part in getting the business going. She actually built my help from scratch. That was 9 months of work for each one of my sons. Now thats an in depth hiring process!

First Born Son

This is James, my firstborn. Before he was busy being a daddy to my beautiful granddaughter, he spent several years right here in the shop with me. While he’s moved on to start his own family traditions, we share a lifetime of memories—from spending weeks paddling through the Boundary Waters in Minnesota to hiking across the New Mexico wilderness. He’s a great father and a fine man, and I couldn't be prouder of the path he’s carved.

Middle Son

This is Scott, my middle son. Growing up, Scott was always the peacemaker between his brothers, and he brought that same gentle, steady spirit into our woodshop. He has a natural calmness to his soul that shows in his work. Scott handles the assembly of almost every box we make, patiently sanding every surface until it’s perfectly smooth and fine-tuning every detail before the hardware is added. He is a wonderful young man, and I couldn't be prouder to have him by my side.

Youngest Son

Meet Ryan, my youngest. Growing up, he was exactly what you’d expect a baby brother to be: fearless, confident, and always determined to keep up with his older brothers, skateboarder, mountain biker. Ryan has been by my side in the shop since middle school, learning every secret of the craft. Today, he runs the show. From hand-selecting the rough lumber to planing and cutting every piece to a perfect fit, his meticulous eye is what sets our work apart. If a piece isn't perfect, it goes in the burn pile—no exceptions. He is everything a father could hope for, and getting to work with him every day is my greatest reward.

Next Generation

This is my beautiful granddaughter. While she hasn’t started building boxes just yet, she’s already mastered the cleanup! Every time she visits, she’s on "sawdust duty"—carefully loading up her toy wheelbarrow and hauling it out to the backyard. I might be the owner, but she’s definitely thinks she is the boss of me!

Our Shop Mascots

Ellie & Amy - These two are my constant companions. They are firm believers that it is my job to cater to their every whim. I need to take them outside about 15 times a day and reward them with a treat just for coming back inside. I wouldn't have it any other way!!
